This webinar is for front line practitioners who are working in Southampton with families and individuals impacted by domestic abuse. It provides a brief overview of domestic abuse support and services, explores risk factors, and details referral pathways in Southampton for support and advice.
The session aims to raise awareness and increase confidence in responding to domestic abuse, in assessing and understanding the risk to victims of domestic abuse, and clarifying support options and referral pathways in Southampton including the PIPPA Helpline and MARAC (Multi Agency Risk Assessment Conference).
We will explore the different needs of adults impacted by abuse, recovering from abuse, or perpetrating abuse, and reference support available for families impacted by abuse.
Please note that although it will be possible to ask questions during the session, this webinar will take the form of a presentation and will not contain interactive elements.
Learning outcomes/objectives:
- Briefly define domestic abuse and barriers to disclosure
- Describe the DASH risk assessment form and signpost to other assessment tools
- Clarify consent and referral processes for below high risk and MARAC
- Outline support available to victims and perpetrators
