About this event

Duncan McMaster has been in the police for nearly 20 years. He started with the Metropolitan Police force working on a uniformed response team. After moving to Birmingham he began working for West Mercia Police, again in a uniformed response role. Later he transferred to Essex Police which is where he is currently serving. After transferring he worked in uniformed response roles before becoming a safer schools liaison officer. He remained in that role for around three years before moving back into a uniformed response role.

Later Duncan moved onto the domestic abuse safeguarding team based at Essex Police HQ, which dealt with the safeguarding of high risk domestic violence victims in the county of Essex. After being promoted he moved onto the Harlow Domestic Abuse investigation team and qualified as a Detective Sergeant, where he has been for nearly four years. Duncan has dealt with domestic violence from all angles as a first responder, whilst in uniformed roles, from a safeguarding point of view and now as an investigator.
