Description

Discover the ‘Living Heritage of the River Don’, get hooked on fishing and start exploring the ‘Don Valley Way’ at Sprotborough Lock.

Youngsters can book in for an introduction to fishing taster session (please email info@dcrt.org.uk to book). This activity is being sponsored by by the Canal & River Trust, who will also have their ‘Explorer’ educational activities on site. Don Catchment Rivers Trust will be unveiling the new ‘Don Valley Way’ walking trail and heritage walks. ‘Wyre Lady’ will be running free 1 hour trips. There will be community stalls so you can explore what is happening on the river – Don Gorge Community Group, River Stewardship Company (with displays about their work on Invasive Species), the Environment Agency Flood Resilience team, Yorkshire Wildlife Trust, and local wood carver Andy Rounthwaite.
