Event description

Description

This event is for providers who may be interested in bidding for the Doncaster Opportunity Area's fund for the delivery of extra-curricular activities for children and young people who are in one of the following groups:

- SEND

- Young carers

- LGBT+ teenagers

- Primary school children

- Gypsy, Roma, traveller

- White boys who face disadvantage

This £300,000 fund is available to organisations who are able to deliver extra-curricular activities in and out of school settings for these young people, to help them develop non-cognitive life skills such as resilience and confidence. The fund will be launched very shortly.

The Doncaster Opportunity Area is a Department for Education programme that is working to improve social mobility in the borough through education. It has been allocated £2.75 million to spend on the essential life skills of the young people locally and has already launched a comprehensive offer for schools. This fund will enhance and complement our existing activity, by providing activites for groups who may need additional support.

At this event you will hear from Doncaster Opportunity Area representatives from the Department for Education and Doncaster Council who can tell you more about the programme and bidding process. You will also hear from Doncaster's youth consortium EXPECT Youth who will be programme managing the process.

Tea and coffee on arrival from 16:30, presentations at 16:45 and networking from 17:30.
