Description

No Knives, Better Lives presents the interactive youth workshop

Don't be a bystander: Exploring how to help in difficult situations

Many of us will have, at some time in our lives, felt powerless to act when we see another person being hurt. Indeed, this may occur even when we see this happening to a friend.

Why do we often fail to act when we witness problematic behaviours? What makes particular behaviour problematic? Do we ever ask ourselves what are the possible consequences of not acting?

This one-day workshop will explore these questions and your core values as individuals. The workshop will start to explore the many challenges that often stop you living up to these values.

The workshop will immerse you in the role of a bystander to realistic and relevant social issues, raising your awareness of the situation and inspiring you to act. The workshop aims to help you be the friend that you truly are.

This event is free.** Registration will open at 9.45am and the workshop will start at 10am. The event will close at 4pm. Lunch and refreshments will be provided.

This event is specifically designed for young people and accompanying youth workers.
