Event description
Artist Huhtamaki Wab hosts an evening of live music and moving image from his YouTube based alter ego Ruler of Hi Fashion.

About this Event

Wab's paintings depict a world, animistic, colourful and ecstatic, where spirits and humans are interconnected, relational and dependent. Taking references from ukiyo-e prints of his birthplace, Wab brings these to a contemporary context where competition for meaning is immediate and overloaded. In his video work, immediacy and overload are also key. Wab morphs between internet shaman, joker and meditative soul, guiding viewers through his search for the Waba Hee Hee (2018) or offering up tips for healthy living (Call Centre/Healthy Living 2017).

Join Wab for devised musical performance on his gong, accompanied by a curated programme of film by the artist.

This event is wheelchair accessible andn takes places in the CCA Cinema. Those under 14 must be accompanied by an adult.

Programmed by Cabbage as part of Glasgow International 2020. Cabbage is a creative platform based in Glasgow. Wab's paintings can be see on display at Drawing Life from 24th April - 10th May 2020.
