October 2025 sees the release of a new hardback art book, DON’T LOOK NOW AND THEN, celebrating Nicolas Roeg’s seminal 1973 film. It features hundreds of previously unpublished photographs and documents, offering a fresh glimpse into the making of a masterpiece.
This ultimate love letter to “Don’t Look Now”, brings together historical writing and archive, as well as new interviews with its makers and contributions from admirers of the film, including Mark Jenkin, Reece Shearsmith, Carol Morley and Stephen Woolley.
The book’s publisher and author Justin John Doherty will be here to talk about why he decided to independently create and finance a book like this. The process will be opened up, discussing how he became part detective in the making of it, how he got some big names involved, and how it felt to uncover some of the books rich material – most of which has remained unseen by the public until now. And then there’s the blood… but that’s a story for the event.
This event is free, but you are invited to make a donation to support Brown Books Community Bookshop and Luton Literature CIC.
Space is limited and so it must be booked in advance and max two places can be reserved per booking.
Tea, coffee and refreshments will be available to purchase on the evening.
Please arrive at 7.15pm for a 7.30pm start.
