If you are a new organisation or have recently grown or changed committee members, then this session will help you understand the trustee / committee member's role in managing the finances of the organisation. This isn't just for treasurers as the session highlights the role of all members in ensuring the organisation is financially healthy.

Aims of the workshop
To build understanding of the importance of financial management
To build confidence and ability to perform good financial housekeeping
To leave the workshop having started the work to ensure better financial management of their organization.
Delegates are encouraged to bring along their financial records to work on but a model organization will also be used as an example.
The content covered will be tailored depending on the needs of delegates on the day. However typically attendees will:
Understand their financial responsibilities as trustees
Be able to record transactions including fixed assets, expenses, income
Understand the concept of debits and credits
Learn how to depreciate a fixed asset
Start to prepare a receipts and payments account
Be able to determine if their organization needs an audit or independent examination of their accounts
The workshop will be open to up to 6 organisations who may send 1 or 2 delegates each. Post course support Each organization will be entitled to up to one hour’s post course email support to follow up issues covered on the course.
About the Trainer
Rachel is a trainer, speaker and facilitator and coordinating director of Holy Brook Associates.She has a wide range of expertise including business and economic awareness, leadership and management, sales and marketing, financial management and communication and media skills as well as chairing and speaking on public policy issues. She has delivered a wide range of courses including technical training for Accountants (ACCA, CIMA, ICAS and AAT). An experienced course designer she has been training staff, volunteers and partners since 2007.
