Description

This Summer sees the publication of Don’t Worry ‘Bout the Bear by Brewin Books, the musical memoirs of Jim Simpson, written with Ron Simpson. Covering musical adventures from Marbella to Kansas City, from Cannes to the Arctic Circle, the book is centred on Birmingham, home to many groups managed by Jim including Black Sabbath, jumping off point for pan-European tours of American blues stars and the site of such diverse ventures at Henry’s Blueshouse, Ronnie Scott’s in Broad Street and, of course, the Birmingham, Sandwell & Westside Jazz Festival which returns for its 35th year this July.

Jim Simpson will be talking through the highs and lows of his 60 years in the music industry with Mark Skirving of King Pleasure & The Biscuit Boys fame ahead of their festival performance at West Bromwich Library. You can get a taste of the riveting stories and cracking yarns contained in the book and purchase a signed copy, before enjoying some great live music.
