1. Who can participate in DWMO?

DWMO is primarily designed for black males aged 14-19 in London. However, we also have a limited number of places available for girls who are interested in joining this transformative experience.

Forum theatre is an interactive form of theatre where audience members become active participants in the performance. It allows for real-life scenarios to be explored, discussed, and even altered through audience intervention.

3. How can I get involved in DWMO?

To get involved with DWMO, sign up for our Easter Holiday Drama Programme on Eventbrite. Places are limited, so we recommend that you reserve your spot right away. If all places are taken, you will be placed on a reserve list.

4. Is there a cost to participate?

Accepted Answer

We strive to make DWMO accessible to all participants, so the programme is completely free, including the theatre trip and return transport on Thursday, 11th April; however, we expect 100% attendance and participation in the entire programme.

By participating in DWMO, you'll have the opportunity to develop your acting skills, explore important social issues, and contribute to the creation of a powerful piece of theatre. Additionally, you'll be part of a supportive community that values your voice and experiences.

6. How will DWMO address issues like racism and mental health?

DWMO will address these issues through storytelling, dialogue, and interactive exercises. Our goal is to raise awareness, challenge stereotypes, and provide support to those who may be affected by these issues. You will also have access to our professionally trained counsellors.

Absolutely! DWMO is all about amplifying the voices and experiences of young people. We encourage participants to share their own stories and perspectives, and we'll provide a safe and supportive environment for you to do so.

Yes, we welcome friends, family, and community members to attend the final performance of DWMO. It's a chance for you to showcase your hard work and talent, and to share the important messages of the play with a wider audience.

DWMO is committed to accessibility for all participants. We strive to provide equitable access to our programme for individuals with disabilities. There is wheelchair access but if you have specific accessibility needs or concerns, please reach out to us, and we will do our best to accommodate them.

10. What age group is this for?

Accepted Answer

This is open to ANYONE age 14-19. However, due to the theme of the play, priority will be given to boys from African and Caribbean backgrounds.
