Event lasts up to 3 hours.

Free parking is available at the venue

Toilets are available at the start and end of the walk.

We’ll meet at 11am in Drumnadrochit Village Car Park, off the A82, in the centre of Drumnadrochit. The car park is on the righthand side, just after the traffic lights, if you’re travelling from Inverness (limitless.petal.yacht on what3words; Drumnadrochit Car Park on Apple Maps and Google Maps). Free parking is available.

Local buses don’t run through Drumnadrochit on Sundays, and limited Citylink coaches stop in the village on their way to and from Fort William (919) and Portree (917). If you’d like to join us for this Dopamine Daunder, but you’re unable to get there, please email info@dopaminedolls.co.uk as you may be able to get a lift with someone else who’s attending.

We’ll meet by the noticeboards, which are on the righthand side as you enter the car park. Toilets are available at the Loch Ness Hub building, which is in the car park. We’ll be able to make use of these before and after our walk.

We’ll walk together through the village for about half a mile until we reach the entrance to Craigmonie Wood. We’ll then follow the green waymarked path, called the Milton Trail, for about 1.5 miles. The walk will take us through the wood to Milton Viewpoint, where we can sit and admire the view before continuing on the circuit back to the point where we entered the woods. We’ll then retrace our steps, through Drumnadrochit, back to the car park.

The whole walk is about 2.5 miles and likely to take up to two hours including stops.

After the walk there’ll be a chance to enjoy lunch, a drink, or a snack together at one of the eateries in Drumnadrochit. Ness Deli and Café is just across the road from the car park. There may also be other options depending on different businesses’ winter opening hours.

Part of the route is on smooth paths but some is over rough, uneven ground.  There are also some steep slopes. We would advise wearing sturdy, comfortable shoes or boots, with ankle support if needed. The walk is unlikely to be suitable for people who use mobility aids.

We’ll walk at a pace that suits everyone’s abilities, and we’ll make sure no one is left behind. We’ll take regular breaks whenever we need them.

We ask that all walkers stay with the group, and of course that they follow the Highway Code and/or the Scottish Outdoor Access Code, which includes behaving responsibly, showing respect, and caring for the environment.

As we’ll be away from main roads, potentially with limited mobile phone signal, please take extra care to keep yourself and others safe. Please ensure you bring any medication you might need, and inform one of the Dopamine Dolls Volunteers, before the walk starts, if you have any medical conditions or health concerns. In the event of an emergency, the Dopamine Dolls Volunteer facilitating the walk that day will be responsible for seeking assistance.

The walk will take place come rain or shine, so please come prepared. We would advise wearing layers in case of varying temperatures, and bringing both sun protection (sun cream, hat etc) and waterproofs, as our weather does tend to be a little unpredictable!

We’re charging a small fee of £1 to help with promoting the activities and carrying out risk assessments. However, to say ‘thank you’ to the Dolls who filled out our outdoor activities survey, and helped us choose the first route of 2025, we’re offering them their first Dopamine Daunder for free. If this is you, and you haven’t used your free Daunder yet, please DON’T book using Eventbrite, email info@dopaminedolls.co.uk instead.

Dopamine Daunders are for women and non-binary people, aged 18 and over, with ADHD. An ADHD diagnosis is not required to attend Dopamine Dolls events.

We have taken the decision NOT to allow dogs to be brought on Dopamine Daunders. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
