Jo Johnson (MBA 00D) MP, will share his views on the next steps for Britain after Brexit. As an experienced politician with a background in financial journalism and investment banking and an MBA from INSEAD, he will bring together a wide range of perspectives on the country's biggest upheaval since the 1940s.

He has been one of the most prominent Remainers, highlighted by his decision to resign from Theresa May’s cabinet in November 2018 because of the government’s Brexit policy.

With so much up in the air, it’s impossible to predict what will be happening with Brexit when we meet up with Jo in June, though the process itself and its consequences will undoubtedly be a central pre-occupation for people throughout the country, from international businesses to entrepreneurs and public and private sector employees.

Jo Johnson is the Member of Parliament for Orpington, after being re-elected for a third term in 2017. In recent years, he has held various senior cabinet roles under Theresa May and David Cameron, including Minister of State at the Department for Transport, Minister for London and Minister of State for Universities, Science, Research and Innovation.

Jo was appointed Head of the Number 10 Policy Unit and Chair of the Prime Minister's Policy Board in 2013. In 2014, he was made Minister of State for the Cabinet Office. Before his election to Parliament, Jo spent 13 years at the Financial Times, working in a variety of roles, including Associate Editor & Editor of The Lex Column. He also worked as an investment banker at Deutsche Bank before joining the FT in 1997.

He was a scholar at Balliol College, Oxford, where he received a first class degree in Modern History in 1994. He completed his MBA at INSEAD in 2000 and obtained a licence spéciale from the Institut d'Etudes Européennes of the Université Libre de Bruxelles, where he was a Wiener-Anspach Fellow.
