About this event

Thank you for your interest and time in finding out more about the recruitment process and role of Special Constable with Dorset Police.

You are invited to join a virtual Awareness Event where you will have the opportunity to hear about the recruitment steps and the training and commitment required to become a Special Constable. You will also hear from serving Special Constables, who will talk about their experiences of joining and serving as a Special Constable, and also how they fit this unique volunteering opportunity into their home and working life. You will have the chance to ask them questions, as well as find out everything you'd like to know about the recruitment and training required.

This event is run by the Devon and Cornwall Police and Dorset Police Alliance People Department. As well as the serving Special Constables the event includes input from the Special Constable Training Team and the recruitment team. There will be information about how the Dorset Police Positive Action Team can help support your application and how some employers are providing time off for volunteering.

Please click on the 'Register' button to reserve your place and receive your invitation and the link to join the virtual event.

We look forward to seeing you.

Keeping people safe is much much more than what you see. Behind every uniformed officer is a whole host of people utilising their talents and working together to make sure resources are available at the right time and in the right place.

Whether you are a mechanic, cleaner or administrator all the way through to accountants, lawyers and volunteers, you too could be part of the teams that work around the clock to police the streets of Devon, Cornwall and Dorset.

The events are very informative and give a real insight into the role that you are attending, and encourage participation.
