UP Projects’ FLOATING CINEMA will tour the waterways from Sheffield to Hull presenting IN DIALOGUE, a programme 
of feature films, documentaries and a newly commissioned artwork by Leeds based artist Harry Meadley.

Come and enjoy a FREE outdoor screening at a location near you.

  • Site opens at 7.30pm with music, food and bar.

  • Screenings from sunset (8.50pm).

  • Bring a picnic or buy food and drinks on site.

  • Blankets available to hire or bring your own.

A documentary about Irish pro surfer Easkey Britton, Iranian pro snowboarder Mona Seraji, and Iranian diver Shalha Yasini's mission to introduce surfing to Iran. The documentary highlights the determination of three young women and the social and cultural context they have to navigate in order to teach people in Iran how to surf. The documentary underlines how sport can be a point of convergence that transcends cultural differences.

An outstanding graduate of Warsaw Ballet School has the prospect of an international career, but it turns out that talent, dedication and hard work are not always a guarantee to success.


Both films are certificate E: The E certificate is an unofficial rating applied to video titles released in the United Kingdom which are exempt from being classified by the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) as any of the other certificate categories. It can also apply for such films which are primarily concerned with sport, religion, politics or music, provided that they do not contain material which would require classification.

Travel and Parking

Local parking is available at Princes Quay Shopping Centre (HU1 2NL) and in multiple carparks on Tower St (HU9 1TQ) which is a short walk from the venue. The Hull Marina is approx 15-20 min walk from Hull Train Station.

We are pleased to be able to offer FREE tickets to our Floating Cinema screenings, if you have booked a place on this screening and can no longer attend please follow the Eventbrite link to cancel your ticket.

  • All children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

  • Alcohol will only be sold to people over the age of 18. A challenge 25 ID policy will be in place so please bring ID if you wish to purchase a drink!

  • NO GLASS ALLOWED ON SITE.
