Originating from Kerala, South India, this dance style is exclusively performed by women. ‘Mohini’ is a beautiful lady who dances ‘attam’, a enchantingly, feminine sequence with wave-like body movements. The theme of the dance is generally ‘sringara’ or love, delicately performed with suggestive gestures, rhythmic footwork and lyrical music. As part of the 20 years celebrations, we present regional dancers Remya Nambiar and Rashmi Sudhir. Both dancers hail from Kerala and are trained in Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi and Mohiniattam.
