Mustahid Husain's debut international novel, Double Truths, examines postcolonial identity and reconstruction. The protagonist travels between Bangladesh, the United States, and Canada, representing the modern global experience of belonging everywhere and nowhere simultaneously. The novel makes complex global development issues accessible while exploring themes of love, loss, and belonging. Building upon Husain's doctoral research and academic work, the book aims to show general readers how development aid often fails those it intends to help in the global South.

Bio:

Dr. Mustahid Husain is among the few Bangladeshi scholars who have researched and published across multiple disciplines in both Bengali and English. Born in Bangladesh, Dr. Husain spent his teenage years there before living much of his adult life in the United States and Canada. Before becoming an anthropologist at the University of Toronto, he worked in international banking, energy, telecommunications, and at a major international development agency.
