Join Dougald Hine, connector, changemaker, storyteller and entrepreneur for a lively discussion on 'How to Change the World (In the Absence of Progress)'. The event will take place at Impact Hub Islington on Friday, June 27 from 7-9 p.m. The suggested donation is £4 at the door.
Between 2006-12, Dougald was an active presence in London's 'social innovation' scene, as co-founder of educational web startup School of Everything and founder of Spacemakers, the agency responsible for the revival of Brixton Village, the West Norwood Feast, Cricklewood Town Square and Learning from Kilburn. He is also the co-founder of the Dark Mountain Project.
In this talk, he asks: How we can find and hold onto a sense that change is possible, that things could be other than they are, when the future has become a source of anxiety rather than a source of optimism? And what does this mean for 'social innovation', which has often been defined in terms of 'progress'?
