About this Event
On Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th December, Dover Town Council invites you to see the Roman Lawn near Market Square transformed and illuminated by outdoor arts experts Walk the Plank as they bring their Fire Garden to the town for a unique fiery event.
The Fire Garden is an outdoor family experience which has been adapted for social distancing and provides the perfect opportunity to get outdoors and experience something unique, encouraging warmth and feelings of togetherness. Visitors will wander through a series of immersive fiery installations and see sculptural scenes of flames and foliage cast a golden glow around the Roman Lawn.
Following flame-lit pathways, visitors can expect to see intricately carved flower boxes and feel the heat from flame-filled floral chimneys. From mechanical plants that burst into flame before your eyes to holly bushes that ignite in a flash, the Fire Garden will offer an unforgettable family friendly experience.
Please Note:
The Fire Garden is on the Roman Lawn, near Dover Market Square and takes place on uneven and potentially wet/muddy ground appropriate footwear must been worn.
We request that you help us keep this event as safe as possible for the whole community of Dover by doing the following:
- Do not attend if unwell or told to self isolate or showing Covid-19 symptoms
- Do not socialise in groups larger than 6, (groups with more than 6 people will be refused entry.)
- Do Face covering must be worn before entering and must keep it on until you leave the Fire Garden area.
- Do sanitise your hands at the cleaning station at the entrance of the Fire Garden
- Do stay 2 metres apart from people you do not live with.
- Do keep to the one way path
- Do follow instructions from event staff
Entry may be refused or you may be asked to leave if you do not follow the instructions of event staff.
