FAQs

Why are you organising this event?
The event is a fundraiser for Brookfield Primary School. We also think it's fun to get together and learn about making films as families.

Is the event only for families that attend Brookfield Primary school?
No, it is for any families that would like to come.

How much does it cost?
£3.21 per person. (The 0.21 covers our fees with Eventbrite). It is the same price for children and adults.
Please note we are charging a small amount in the hope it will be affordable for all families. We will also be asking for donations at the event, from those families that can afford it.

Do I have to pay for babies?
No, babies and infants younger than two can come for free.

Will there be food?
Yes, there will be pizzas, crisps, popcorn, and ice creams available to buy. There will also be water, juice, and drinks.

What film are you showing?
Unlike our last two DPFC KIDS events where we showed a film, this event is different. Two top animators will show their short films and talk through how they created them. The plan is:
5pm - Gates open, people eat & drink & chat (a chance to eat an early dinner)
5:30 - Event starts with screenings of the best kids' animations from our animation competition
5:45 - Andrew Ruhemann will show his 15 minute animation called 'The Lost Thing' which won an Oscar
6pm - Q&A with Andrew
6:15 - Interval - more food & drink if needed
6:45 - Local animator Osbert Parker will show his animation & talk through how he made it
7:15 - The formal part of the evening over, time for kids to talk to the animators & everyone to relax
8pm - Everyone needs to leave by this time

Why have you chosen these animators?
They are both briliant animators and have a connection to the local area.

Andrew Ruhemann is a film producer, director and the founder of Passion Pictures, one of the top animation companies in the world. Passion Pictures is known for its many award winning commercial campaigns, including Compare the Market featuring Aleksandr meerkat and the acclaimed Gorillaz music videos. More about Passion Pictures here: http://www.passion-pictures.com
Andrew attended Highgate Boys - so he has a local connection.

Osbert Parker is an award winning animator who lives around the corner from Brookfield. He has been nominated for the prestigious BAFTA award three times and made animations for Coca-Cola, Nike, Budweiser, Orange, The World Wildlife Fund and Gatorade. TV clients inc. BBC, Channel 4, ITV and MTV. He was recently chosen to present a BBC series about animation. More about Ozzy here: http://www.osbertparker.com/

How many people can attend?
We are strictly limited because of fire regulations so we can only let 200 people in. Please get your tickets early if you don't want to miss out.

What time will the event end?
We expect to be completely finished by 7:30pm.

How can I contact the organiser with any questions?
Email: lizzie.gillett@gmail.com

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
No, you can either bring a printed ticket or show it to us on your phone.

Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?
Yes, that is fine.
