Event Information
About this event
The Asia Scotland Institute is delighted to announce that Dr Gerald Ross will speak on an Institute webinar on 2 Jun 20; he will highlight the need for a new management paradigm in light of COVID 19 lessons and outline some principles for a new organisational model.
Dr. Gerald Ross is Founder and CEO of the Rubicon Intelligence Unit. He and his team developed the CareFyt Pilot™ to support caregivers for those with Alzheimer's and Parkinson's, assisting them to organise complex affairs and their loved ones. Rubicon serves to prepare technology companies for the unexpected business challenges ahead.
Before launching Rubicon, Dr. Ross served as Dean of McGill's Faculty of Management, with programs in the US, China, Japan, India and Europe. He and his team developed award-winning pedagogical processes to engage students in active learning. Prior to McGill, he was Managing Partner of Change Lab International in Greenwich Connecticut.
Dr Ross will explore the failure of bureaucracy to manage Coronavirus effectively and highlight our inability to organise and coordinate our responses to such complex, dynamic challenges. He will explain how the Coronavirus has become the new normal for many other challenges and thus the need to transform traditional organisations. Considering this, he will focus on the essential requirements for 21st Century organisations and some key organising principles. He will then consider the implications for Business Schools. He will highlight the opportunities to create new paradigms to drive the next 50+ years of organisational performance, including: revised programme design; a transferrable, scalable pedagogical process; and a new organisational model.
