Dr John Grimshaw, Director of the Yorkshire Arboretum, talks about Woody Plants for the Winter Garden.

About this Event

Dr John Grimshaw is a respected gardener, botanist and author. He has written and edited several books, co-authoring “Snowdrops: A Monograph of Cultivated Galanthus”, “The Gardeners' Atlas”, a book on the origins of the world's most popular plants, and “New Trees, Recent Introductions to Cultivation”.

John was awarded a First in Botany at Oxford. As well as writing he has enjoyed a varied and interesting career including 9 years restoring the Gardens at Colesbourne Park (famous for its snowdrops) before he became the Director of the Yorkshire Arboretum in 2012. His gardening interests are very broad, but specialities include bulbs, ferns and African plants.
