Description

Martin Myers (Miracle Communications) is the fourth Generation of his family to enter movie business, coming from a cinema family, film is in my blood. Like his late father before him, his handshake is his bond. Great Grandfather and Grandfather owned cinemas across London. Martin followed his father into distribution at an early age, working in his fathers office in Wardour Street during school holidays. An accomplished professional with broad experience of the film and video business in both corporate and independent sectors. He has had substantial experience of taking a product from concept/script to completion with sales and marketing expertise.

Following early roles in distribution, sales and marketing for CIC, UIP, Martin Myers became Sales and Marketing Director of Miracle Films and later took on the same role (along with responsibility for acquisition) at Vestron Pictures where he released Princess Bride, Buster and Dirty Dancing. He was subsequently appointed Theatrical Director of First Independent Films Limited, where he oversaw acquisitions and release. In 1999 he set up Miracle Communications, focusing on the distribution and sales.

Porter Frith was formed by its two principal directors, Sue Porter and Lizzie Frith, who between them have a wealth of film industry experience in distribution, sales, marketing, public relations and managerial roles. The agency provides a specialist service within the areas of the Film and Home Entertainment encompassing a wide and eclectic range of titles. Whilst working on films with a more traditional release pattern through mainstream and arthouse cinemas, this model has changed over the years to incorporate different routes to market in order to reach a wider audience from small rural cinemas and clubs to arts hubs. The emphasis has always been to find original and innovative ways to get a film seen by the public and media alike. Porter Frith has been retained, over the years, on a long-term basis by numerous film distributors and producers, many of which it continues to work with, as well as handling one-off projects. In addition, the company has an ongoing relationship with several of the directors and producers it was introduced to via Distribution Rewired as a support and mentor for future projects.
