- Building Reading Profiles to identify strengths, motivator, barriers, and preferred access methods (audio, screen reader, partner reading, talking resources etc)
- Inclusive approaches that work for all – including shared and echo reading, choral or paired reading, story mapping, audio-supported texts, RAP and rhythm routines, vocabulary-rich story talk, and guided reading with visual or digital support.
- Learners are empowered through text choice, drawing on comics, audiobooks, picture books, and high–low texts to ensure access, motivation, and belonging.
- Adaptive tools and technology: reading pens, iPad/tablets screen readers, Clicker, Book Creator, Immersive Reader.
- Vocabulary as a gateway to reading: songs, signing, RAPs, and symbol-supported word learning.
