International Men's Day - Dragon Boat Taster Session

Celebrate International Men's Day with an exciting Dragon Boat Taster Session at the River Tees Watersports Centre! Join us for a fun-filled session on the water, where you can learn the basics of dragon boat paddling and experience the thrill of racing against the clock.

No previous experience is necessary, just bring your enthusiasm and a willingness to try something new. Grab your friends and come make a splash with us this International Men's Day! Wear comfortable warm clothing for the session. Please don't wear any of the following as this may prevent your place in the boat for safety reasons: jeans, heels or boots of any kind e.g. wellington, walking, fashion, loose jewellery, wetsuit, heavy/ bulky items of clothing such as winter coat, dress or skirt, swimwear. Unsuitable clothing may result in you being unable to take part in the session for safety reasons.

Please arrive promptly to allow safety briefings to take place to allow you to take part.

When you arrive, one of our members will meet you. You will be given a full safety brief and an introduction to paddling by one of our fully qualified and experienced coaches. Here we will give you all your equipment to take part in the session (a paddle and buoyancy aid). This is also where you can ask us any questions you may have. You will then be guided to the boat where we will teach you the basics of paddling in around an hour. Straight away you will be paddling the boat under expert guidance while having fun and making many new friends!

All of the money raised from this session will go towards 'Andy's Man Club' - a men's suicide prevention charity, offering free-to-attend peer-to-peer support groups across the United Kingdom and online.
