Inspiring Creativity. Building Confidence.
Drama In Mind's "Arts Award Explore" is a fun, engaging programme that helps children unlock their creativity while earning a certificate. Funded by BBC Children In Need, these workshops include imaginative drama workshops, led by professional performers. Children aged 8-16, or the separated older group aged 17 - 24 including SEN in both groups, explore emotions, express ideas, and build confidence as they create and perform their own original scenes.
Each child creates a personal Arts Award portfolio, as creative as they like, using photos, video blogs, audio clips, their own art work or in any way they choose. The porfolio is viewed and supported all the way by our Arts Award Adviser, who will assess their work. Portfolios are sent off for moderation, to hopefully award your child with a certificate, which adds to their own achievement portfolio, ideal for those who struggle with regular education. Participants logs capture their journey as they discover different art forms, research inspiring artists, and develop new skills.
Along the way, the group work together as a team to produce a final performance they’ll be proud to share and teach what they've learnt to family/friends. They’ll complete easy, creative tasks at home and to gain their certificate at the end.
It’s more than just drama—it’s a journey of self-expression, emotional growth, and creative discovery.
