Event description

Description

‘We are committed to offering a series of retreats that provide a true learning experience led both by our dedicated tutors, and participants ‘own motivations and skills´’

DRAMA, THE UNIVERSAL LANGUAGE

The course will cover different elements of drama including non-verbal communication such as mime and soundscapes as well as use of tone and body language. It is intended for all levels from participants with little or no experience through to experienced practitioners and performers wishing to take time out to replenish their practice. The course will culminate in an artistic ‘sharing’ performance based on material created throughout the week’s activities.

Mikyla’s Philosophy

Drama is a wonderful way to connect with other people, in an open and creative environment. It can be invaluable for developing confidence, communication and public speaking. It is a great way to share news skills, sometimes skills we don’t know we possess or to rediscover old ones. It can also help to build a true sense of belonging, or as a form of expression or simply just to have fun, getting back to ‘playing’ which we often ‘unlearn’ as we leave our childhood behind.

PRICE

  • The cost for our courses is £250 for a full week of a specific course.

  • The price for our courses is £250 (- booking fee) for a full weekend (Friday late afternoon to Sunday after Lunch) of a specific course, the price includes all meals during that time and none alcoholic beverages throughout the day, and of course, accommodation. We cater for all dietary requirements, including vegetarian and vegan. Please make this clear when booking and we are more than happy to answer any queries you have.

  • The cost does not include travel as these vary, and as our courses are out of peak season, often cheap travel can be found. It is easily accessed by car and bus and there are generally two-hourly through train services on weekdays and Saturdays to Holyhead and to Chester via Colwyn Bay, Rhyl, Prestatyn and Flint. Additional trains call during the morning peak and in the late afternoon/early evening. After arrival at Chester, most trains go forward to either Birmingham International or Cardiff Central via Wrexham General, Shrewsbury and Hereford. There are also a few early morning and late evening services to Crewe.[6

*Regarding availability of the course, the course will only run with a minimum of participants. Four weeks before the course, our coordinators will get in touch with instructions for full payment. If the course is cancelled, full refunds will be issued.
