Step into the world of dramaturgy with award-winning Playwright and Dramaturg Somebody Jones. In this hands-on workshop, you'll dive into the essentials of dramaturgy, drawing from Jones’ experience with iconic theatres like The Globe and Paines Plough, plus her role in reading for top awards like the Alfred Fagon Award, Verity Bargate Award, and Woven Voices Prize.

Jones will guide you through the process of reading new works and tackling tricky material. She’ll also spill the tea on how she connects with dramaturgy clients and what it's like working in the field.

About the Facilitator

Somebody Jones is an LA native playwright/dramaturg, currently living, working, and dreaming in London. Jones received a MA in Dramaturgy & Writing for Performance from Goldsmiths University of London. The playwright/dramaturg primarily works within the genres of horror and magical realism. Jones's debut play, HOW I LEARNED TO SWIM premiered at Roundabout at Edinburgh Fringe in 2024 and then transferred to Brixton House and Bristol Old Vic. SWIM was a finalist for the Women's Prize for Playwriting and shortlisted for the Alfred Fagon Award. In 2022, Jones won the Tony Craze Award for ALL MY FRIENDS ARE DEAD.
