About this event
Looking for the perfect opportunity to unwind, get creative and learn some fun new skills? This drypoint printing experience will do the trick.
Your workshop will be hosted by experienced teacher and Bristol-based printmaker Kate Miller. It will be run from Cass Art's modern studio space on Park Street.
What's drypoint printmaking?
In drypoint printmaking, a design is drawn or scratched on a plate with a sharp needle-like instrument, inked up and run through a printing press. This makes each print truly one-of-a-kind. Come along to a relaxed workshop to discover how to print using this method as well as how to add a collage layer to your work, known as chine colle. This is made for beginners.
In this four hour experience you will:
- Receive an introduction and some inspiration from your tutor, Kate
- Try out drypoint tools, materials and techniques
- Start work on your own print and use the printing press!
- Discover how to add colourful collage layers to your printwork
- Enjoy refreshments of tea, coffee and biscuits
