Get creative, this course provides comprehensive tuition in the essentials of drawing and painting. Learn how to draw and paint accurately and expressively through a series of taught lessons with demos, group tuition and one-to-one coaching in our countryside studio.
Beginning with the principles of drawing using line, tone, mark-making and proportion you will be able to build on your skills week by week. A wide range of subject matter will be covered and you will have the opportunity to work on fast paced work as well as more sustained works. This term we will focus on music. A variety of drawing materials are used during the course including wet and dry media and you will gain an understanding of how to mix paint and the principles of applying colour. Each class is structured with different materials and techniques and students are encouraged to develop a personal style. Classes often start with a selection of images of artists work past and present to instruct and inspire and enable students to make connections between their work and the work of the others.
