Drawing Club: Silverpoint Workshop with Adrian Haak
Overview
Join artist Adrian Haak, Jr. to discover the medium of silverpoint drawing.
The session will begin by taking a look at its history, from the renaissance to leading contemporary artists, before exploring silverpoint materials and drawing from direct observation. Participants are invited to bring in a small object of personal significance to draw and to explore how the meditative process of silverpoint drawing influences the engagement with their object. All levels of experience welcome. Adrian Haak, Jr. makes silverpoint drawings of natural objects like leaves, stones, and trees. These objects are often collected as mementoes of a particular place or time. He explores their idiosyncratic and archetypal potential, often using significant geometric forms to structure and deepen his compositions.
The class will accommodate max. 20 people. It is not required that you bring any materials with you, but you are welcome to do so if you wish. Otherwise all drawing materials will be provided such as pencils, pens, pastels etc.
