Together, we invite you enjoy a fun day with us, in the setting of Laxmi's art studio, exploring your creativity blending drawing and alternative printing and an opportunity to take home a beautiful cyanotype artwork made by you.
Laxmi Hussain is a British artist who's practice thrives on drawing, it is something essential to her creative flow and something she loves to share as a tool for wellbeing and exploration. Laxmi will take you through a guided hour exploring drawing, taking inspiration from the body and developing ideas to create your own cyanotype.
Cyanotype is known for its deep prussian blue tones. It's a fascinating and accessible alternative printing process accessible to everyone. In this workshop, you’ll learn how to transform your drawing into a beautiful blue print using sunlight and chemistry.
Aurélie Lagoutte is a French artist photographer currently based in London, printing is an essential part of her creative practice, and she is excited to share this expressive process with others.
What you can expect for this workshop:
- Learning how to prepare and coat your paper
- A guided drawing session, leading to drawing your final design on acetate
- Exposing your image to UV light
- Developing and drying your cyanotype print
- Taking your finished artwork home
Suited for beginners, no experience needed. All equipment and materials will be provided.
Tea, coffee and cake/light snacks will be available throughout the session.
A lunch break will be provided, we recommend you bring your own lunch to save time, however there are many places locally to pick up something.
