Drawing Faces at the National Portrait Gallery
Saturday, 8 February 2014 from 10:15 to 17:15 (GMT)
San Francisco, California
London, United Kingdom
Working from the marble busts and paintings in the National Portrait Gallery this course focuses on helping you to capture the character and emotion in a face by breaking down the features and spacial relationships involved in that face into forms that you understand and then can recreate with accuracy. We will be working in a range of materials (coloured papers, dark and light pencils, graphite sticks and water soluble pencils) and as usual the focus will be on helping you to see form and shade and capture both photorealistic realism and impressionistic similarity.
