Drawing is Free & Drawing Projects UK Teaching Drawing Symposium 2
Event Information
About this Event
Drawing Projects UK is pleased to present this Teaching Drawing Symposium convened by Drawing is Free on Friday 22 January from 3pm to 5pm (UK time) in association with the Trinity Buoy Wharf Drawing Prize 2020.
The first Teaching Drawing Symposium held alongside the Trinity Buoy Wharf Drawing Prize 2020, and convened by Drawing is Free [AKA Chloe Briggs] as part of a residency with Drawing Projects UK during the Trinity Buoy Wharf Drawing Prize 2020 exhibition, was held in October 2020. The speakers responded to an Open Call from Drawing is Free to present on teaching drawing in a 'pecha kucha' format of 20 slides with a 20-second commentary - you can see a recording of this event on the Drawing Projects UK YouTube channel.
Join us for this second iteration of the very popular and succesful online Teaching Drawing Symposium in 'pecha kucha' format to hear from another group of passionate drawing educators about teaching drawing in a range of contexts and countries.
We will be updating this page with details of the speakers and their presentations in early January 2021 - so watch this space - and please do join in for another lively demonstration and discussion about teaching drawing!
**Please register for this event and we will send you details of how to join online in advance of the symposium by email via the Drawing Projects UK Eventbrite account**
There will be a follow on discussion at 6pm with Chloe Briggs and Anita Taylor to talk about what's next and a Drawing Correspondence School delivered in association with Drawing is Free, Drawing Projects UK, Tania Kovats, and other drawing specialists.
The Trinity Buoy Wharf Drawing Prize 2020 exhibition and engagement programme at Drawing Projects UK was supported using public funds by Arts Council England. Drawing is Free continues to present events throughout the exhibition tour to Dundee and London.
