Drawing Like William Blake: Talk & Art Workshop
Overview
This is one of the ‘Drawing Like…’ art workshop series aimed to spread awareness and celebrate the practices of different illustrators, fine artists and makers throughout art history.
Hosted by young artists, Sophia Phillips and Olivia Leung, this event will include a talk about the life and art of the famous Romatic poet William Blake (1757-1827). His poetry and paintings were a key contribution to the Romanticism movement in Britain, often seen as a radical figure attempting to visualise philosophical ideas on paper.
The event will involve a talk by the two artists on William Blake around some of the permanent exhibition rooms his work exhibiting at Tate Britain, followed by creative workshop downstairs at the Djanogly Café. Whether you’re inspired by his art or written world, you’ll get to create your own piece using any medium you like.
This event is a wonderful opportunity to connect, share your artistic interests, and simply enjoy a nice time with the creative community!
