About this Event

Drawing Projects UK is pleased to present this half-day Drawing Session led by Jeanette Barnes on Sunday 26 January 2020 from 1pm to 4pm in The Chainstore at Trinity Buoy Wharf in London.

During this half-day Drawing Session you will explore ideas around sketching the cityscape of Trinity Buoy Wharf in the context of the Trinty Buoy Wharf darwing Prize 2018 exhibition. The session is led by Jeanette Barnes who was awarded the Working Drawing Award in the Trinity Buoy Wharf Darwing Prize 2019.

This Drawing Session is suitable for adults of all levels of experience in drawing and sculpture. Basic materials will be provided, but please bring any special materials you would like to draw with.

Jeanette Barnes was born in Lancashire and studied BA Fine Art at Liverpool Polytechnic (1980-83); Postgraduate Diploma in Painting at the Royal Academy Schools (1984-87); MA in Printmaking at Royal College of Art (1987-89). Group exhibitions include: National Print Open Exhibition, Bankside Galleries, London (2019); Lynn Painter Stainers Prize, Mall Galleries, London (2019); Defining the Elemental, Dean Clough Galleries, Halifax (2018). Solo Exhibitions include: Urban Journeys, Felix & Spear, London (2019); Dockland’s Diary, Clifford Chance, London (2018); Metropolis, Felix & Spear, London (2018). Recent awards include: Lynn Painter Stainers Prize, Runner Up (2015); Hugh Casson Drawing Prize, Summer Exhibition, Royal Academy of Arts, London (2013); Jerwood Drawing Prize 2003, Second Prize. She lives and works in London.

This Drawing Session is part of an events and engagement programme accompanying the Trinity Buoy Wharf Drawing Prize 2019 exhibition while it is on show at Trinity Buoy Wharf in London from 18 January to 1 February 2020. The exhibition is open daily from 11am to 4pm and is free to see.
