Frequently asked questions

Is this a taught class?

This is an untutored class but an experienced host will be on hand to offer advice.

Do I need to bring anything?

Yes. Do please bring your usual drawing supplies. Dry media such as graphite and charcoal are good options. A large pad or roll of paper with putty rubbers are standard. A drawing board is highly recommended. Some prefer to work on the floor, and this option is available.

Can I take photos?

Typically not. However some models allow this for legitimate reasons such as visual impairment and for post session studio development. Best ask the host on the day.

This is my first life drawing session. What can I expect?

The host and model will work through a variety of poses of different durations. A typical class begins with some fast and dynamic warm up poses, transitioning to longer seated or reclining poses towards the end.

Why should I attend this life drawing event?

Life drawing is the supreme challenge of creativity. It is the corner piece of artistic development. This is ideal portfolio development for those wishing to pursue entry art schools, colleges and tertiary education.
