Join us on this exciting workshop as we explore the moving body and discover ways to capture movement and dance through drawing. We aim to capture elements of the figure, movement, shape and dynamic combining an instinctive approach and using a variety of drawing methods.
Contemporary dance artists Martha Scholefield and Paula Hocking will move through a range of poses and movement sequences using different dynamics accompanied by a range of music to stimulate imagination and creativity. Techniques such as line, shape, repetition and contrast will be used to help shape impressions and ideas as we go along. Mediums such as pen, graphite, charcoal and pastels will be available including working on different sized paper. There is also the opportunity to work as a group with a fun, interactive task creating a collective large scale artwork. Rosie will guide you through a variety of user-friendly drawing tasks and responses. All materials are provided and if you have anything you would like to bring along, please do!
Whether you are a seasoned artist or just starting out this workshop is for everyone, offering a unique opportunity to explore the moving body through drawing and creating distinctive and original artwork.
Tea and coffee refreshments will be provided.
