About this event

Hobbies • DIY

Alexandra used to roam around her dad’s wood workshop in West Yorkshire, terrorising his colleagues and making wooden sculptures out of anything she could get her hands on. She’d accompany him to the demolition sites of the old mills of the North that were being pulled down; everything within the mills was meant to be burnt, however, we’d salvage wood, bobbins, and cast iron objects and he'd use the materials to make floors and furniture out of the reclaimed timber and other items. The idea that you can make something out of nothing, and questioning the intersection between art, design and craft growing up inspired her to start her own business Well–Crafted. Drawing with coal and found materials – and also offcut paper supplied by GF Smith we will create something wonderful together. The outcome is a series of a2 drawings for you to take home.
