This dynamic and exciting workshop will take place over four evenings and will enable you to learn a variety of skills necessary for working with steel rods. Using these skills you will create three-dimensional drawings.
The course will cover the techniques of bending, cutting, grinding, rolling & shaping steel rods. It will cover ARC welding & MIG welding.
After an initial introduction students will be encouraged to work on individual sculpture/s or design projects and research new possibilities and processes.
Small group numbers allows 1:1 tuition for participants on this course.
No sculpture experience is required.
Please bring a sketchbook.
The course fee provides an allowance of ten pounds for materials.
Safe workshop practice will be covered.
It is essential to wear old clothes and strong footwear.

Tutor: Silvina Soria. Silvina obtained her degree as Sculpture Professor at The Fine Arts School Prilidiano Pueyrredon in 2002. After specializing in welding and blacksmithing she obtained a master in Contemporary Sculpture at Ernesto de la Carcova Postgraduated School, both in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
