About this event
About the Event:For this Dream Night, you’ll be guided through the process of botanical bundle dyeing—a gentle and playful technique that transforms fabric into a work of art, imprinted with the colours and forms of flowers.
During the workshop, you’ll learn how to prepare textiles for natural dyeing and discover which plants and materials can be used—from your kitchen, garden, or the wild. By the end of the evening, you’ll take home your own naturally dyed bamboo silk scarf, created with flowers harvested from The Floating Garden.
All tools and materials will be provided. Herbal teas, coffee, and homemade cake will be available to purchase from the bar on the night.
What to expect:
- An introduction to the basics of botanical bundle dyeing, suitable for beginners.
- The chance to complete a hand-dyed bamboo silk scarf to take home—your own one-of-a-kind piece of wearable art.
- A workshop held in the covered classroom area on board, with the option to work outdoors if the weather allows. Please bring layers to keep warm and comfortable.
Tickets:
- £25 – Subsidised Ticket: For those requiring financial assistance.
- £30 – Standard Ticket: General admission.
- £35 – Pay It Forward Ticket: Support our work by contributing extra to fund future community events.

About the Canal Creative Calendar (CCC)The Canal Creative Calendar (CCC) is a monthly series of art and nature events hosted on a beautiful garden barge, inspired by and shaped by the ever-changing rhythms of the canal. Curated by Canal Dream CIC and Global Generation's Floating Garden, CCC connects people with the waterways through a diverse programme that evolves with the seasons, the arts, and the rich biodiversity of the canal. About Canal Dream CIC:
Canal Dream (CD) is a non-profit arts and cultural organisation based on London’s canals and rivers. CD positions art and creativity as catalysts for canal regeneration and social innovation. We use waterways as maps and boats as spaces to curate site-specific arts and culture programmes. Beyond the arts, we collaborate with cross-sector partners to co-create a waterway-based social innovation network. Our vision is to transform London’s historic canals into a living cultural corridor — a flowing space for regeneration, creative practice, and community connection. Follow our instagram for regular updates on our activity.
About Global Generation:
Global Generation is an environmental education charity with garden sites located throughout London. We offer activities such as urban food growing, supporting bees, carpentry, cooking, storytelling, creative writing, performance and more. We aim to create the conditions for people to come together, connect with themselves, others and their local area and to practically and creatively contribute to ecological and social change. Tickets are priced on a sliding scale, and we encourage those who can, to pay it forward. We have a donation option where you can put money towards supporting the work we do including offering free spaces for community members. Follow our instagram for regular updates on our activity.

About the Space and Accessibility: The Floating Garden is a barge moored along the Regents Canal near Coal Drops Yard with views of the surrounding area. There is an indoor classroom space on the barge so the session will go ahead rain or shine. The barge is not yet completely wheelchair accessible - there is a set of stairs that lead directly to the mooring or lifts that give access to the towpath, however there is one step required to get from the towpath to the barge and steps from the main deck area to the toilet. Please speak to the team if you have specific accessibility questions.Contact: If you are unable to pay or you have any questions regarding accessibility, please get in touch at jillian@globalgeneration.org.uk
