A free webinar demonstrating classroom activities for student wellbeing
About this event
A free professional development session from Dreamachine, focusing on example classroom activities to promote wellbeing.
In this webinar, artist and creative practitioner, and Dreamachine school resources writer, Shermaine Slocombe will demonstrate some of her activities from the Health & Wellbeing set of Dreamachine lesson plans in conversation with 2018 Global Teacher Prize winner and Artists in Residence founder Andria Zafirakou.
What do you see when you close your eyes? What does the sound of your beating heart look like, or the joy of a hug? In this session, you will create a constructed landscape of feelings and emotions. This activity is designed to enable your students to look and listen, and share their thoughts, ideas and feelings through mark-making as a visual language. Their marks will symbolically carry the essence of meaning and make their thinking visible. It can be used to introduce abstraction, expression and kaleidoscopic patterns.
This event is a live-streamed webinar and attendees won’t have cameras on, so you can tune in and relax with a cuppa wherever you are. You will be able to interact using the chat or ask a question using the Q&A function.
This session will be live-streamed on Zoom. Closed captions will be available.
