Is this just for Baptist ministers?

Accepted Answer

Not exclusively. It came out of the desire to have a safe space for those who may not "fit in" to traditional models of ministry -  to foster a sense of belonging, share stories and discern what the Spirit is up to among us.

Is this just for LONDON Baptist folk?

Accepted Answer

Not exclusively - although its sponsored by the LBA, and we may well have a London focus around some tables.

Question 3

Is it another meeting?

Accepted Answer

No - its a table based, story-telling gathering with space given to pray. There's no agenda to see a programme of follow-up gatherings. We hope you'll find people to find a genuine connection with. We know you'll hear some amazing stories of what Baptist leaders have been doing in unlikely spaces.

Is this an inclusive space?

Accepted Answer

It is. You are welcome. This is not a "theology discussion gathering", it's a story telling space to honour what the Spirit has been doing in the marvellous diversity of Baptist dreamers and innovators.

Question 5

Who's facilitating this?

Accepted Answer

The gathering was born out of a conversation between Sally Mann and Carrie Grant. They will be facilitating.

Question 6

So what will happen?

Accepted Answer

We'll gather around tables to share what we have been innovating in our expressions of church/mission/ministry. We'll use Menti software to gather and collate summaries of our stories. Then we will pause together and give space to discern what the Spirit might be saying through this diversity.

Will there be any impact or action taken afterwards?

Accepted Answer

We'll provide these snapshots stories to the LBA. We hope to foster a sense that those who don't always "fit in" do always belong. We may find ways to offer to support to new Baptist dreamers through mentorship, training and accompaniment.
