About this event
Will teach you how to make a men's short sleeved shirt. You will learn:
- How to measure accurately and choose a pattern size
- Tracing pattern pieces
- Understanding pattern markings
- Cutting your pattern pieces from your fashion fabric
- Inserting a collar and collar stand
- Topstitching a breast pocket
- Making a button placket, and installing buttons and buttonholes on your machine
- Hemming and finishing your woven fabric
THIS IS A 2 DAY CLASS.
Set 1: The first day is Tuesday 1st July and the class continues on Tuesday 8th July.
Set 2: The first day is Wednesday 24th Sept and the class continues on Wednesday 1st October.
The class runs from 10.00 - 15.30 on both days. You must be able to attend both dates. The pattern is provided for this class.
By the end of the class you should have a fully completed men's short sleeved shirt, and the confidence to make more when you return home.
Pattern, sewing machines, thread and notions will be included in the cost of the course, but students should bring their own fashion fabric, buttons and interfacing, and co-ordinating thread if desired, to make the shirt from. Please see the chart below in photos for details. If you require assistance please ask in store.

Required:
- Fabric (SEE CHART IN PHOTOS BELOW), please bear in mind that you will need to purchase more for directional prints or if you need to add additional length. Does not include extra for shrinkage. Woven fabrics such as cotton poplin, cotton lawn, flannel etc. Stretch fabrics are not suitable for this pattern.
