About this event

  • Event lasts 4 hours

Gambling harms can impact on so many aspects of a person’s life- finances, relationships, mental health, physical health, housing, career, educational attainment , community cohesion, crime, GP/hospital visits to name a few, all of which have a considerable cost on our Scottish Local Authorities. It is estimated that gambling harms cost FALKIRK as a local authority £2.7 million a year, STIRLING as a local authority £1.8 million a year and cost CLACKMANNANSHIRE £0.8 million a year as a local authority.

So what can we all do as people in helping roles? What kind of support is there in Scotland for the people in your area?

To highlight this, we are holding an event in partnership with FastForward-a charity organisation whose focus is to raise awareness of gambling harms with young people across Scotland and Cyrenians Chances Gambling Support- supporting people who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness, who are negatively impacted by gambling.- on Wednesday 3rd September from 10am till 2pm. The aim of this event is to engage with professionals within these local authorities who would like to learn more about gambling-harms and how to support locals in your community that engage with gambling products.

Tea/Coffee and Lunch will be provided.
