About this event

Gambling harms can impact on so many aspects of a person’s life- finances, relationships, mental health, physical health, housing, career, educational attainment , community cohesion, crime, GP/hospital visits to name a few, all of which have a considerable cost on our Scottish Local Authorities. It is estimated that gambling harms cost EAST RENFREWSHIRE £2.7 million a year as a local authority.

So what can we all do as people in helping roles?

What kind of support is there in Scotland for the people in your area?

To highlight this, Voluntary Action East Renfrewshire are holding an event in partnership with RCA Trust- the leading treatment provider for gambling harms across 28 Local Authorities in Scotland and FastForward-a charity organisation whose focus is to raise awareness of gambling harms with young people across Scotland on Wednesday 22nd October from 10am till 1pm. The aim of this event is to engage with professionals within these local authorities who would like to learn more about gambling-harms and how to support locals in your community that engage with gambling products.

Refreshments will be provided.
