Drop-in: Decorate Your Own Windsock

Let’s get ready for the arrival of the Tall Ships with a fun, family-friendly craft activity: painting and decorating windsocks!

Windsocks are lightweight fabric tubes used to show wind direction and speed, and they are especially useful in maritime settings like ports and marinas. Stand-out designs flapping in the wind make it easier for sailors gauge the wind while docking or navigating along the shore.

Join Abby for a drop-in crafting session where you’ll decorate your own colourful windsock. You can take it home right away, or leave it at Greyhope Bay for the weekend to help guide the Tall Ships sailors to and from the port. (You’re welcome to come back and collect it any time afterward!)

Tickets:

This event is free to attend, and you’re welcome to drop in for any time within two half-hour slots (come between 1:00pm-1:30pm or 1:30pm-2:00pm).

Each attendee can decorate one windsock.

If you'd like to support the event, you can also select a donation ticket (in addition to your free drop-in ticket). The suggested donation is £5 to help cover the cost of materials - thank you so much for supporting community events at Greyhope Bay!
