Drop-in Workshop with Laura Dickinson - I See Zines and Wonders
Overview
I See Zines and Wonders: Free arty workshops in Leicester Libraries during, February half-term.
Each workshop is drop-in style, and lasts over two hours. Pop in to the host library whenever you like during the workshop times and stay for as long as feels right. We will be making zines - a handmade leaflet or booklet - in response to a question or prompt about greener futures. All creative materials will be provided.
Join the workshops to learn to make different zines, engage with inspiring creative activities, and share your ideas for a more sustainable and creative future. Each workshop will be unique and one-of-a-kind, led by a different early-career creative, using a blank piece of paper as a starting point. This workshop will be led by Laura Dickinson in New Parks Library, Leicester.
Laura Dickinson is a multi-disciplinary artist and Senior Lecturer in Fashion Communication and Styling. She explores place, policy, and connection through fashion, music, poetry, and mixed media. Recent work includes the publication 'A Social Policy for Gentrification' and 'Local Honey,' an audio/visual project and production studio collaborating with East-Midlands artists.
All creative materials will be provided. Workshops are suitable for all ages (children require parental supervision). All workshops are free. Book your workshop place directly with No Jobs in the Arts for Free on Eventbrite to receive email reminders.
A programme of six workshops will be delivered at Libraries across during February half-term (17th to 21st February 2026). For more information about the wider 'I See Zines and Wonders' project and online workshops please see: www.nojobsinthearts.co.uk/opportunities/zinesandwonders
