This training session is for anyone who lives in Wigan and Leigh, and is supporting a young person who is experiencing challenges with drugs or alcohol, or who is at risk of experiencing them.
Curiosity about drugs sometimes leads to young people experimenting, and most do not progress beyond experimentation.
However, for some young people, experimentation can lead to challenges with drug or alcohol dependence. There are many factors for this, and DUST helps to accurately assess these factors and understand if support from a specialist drug and alcohol service is required.
Our training session will take you through how DUST and provide guidance on how to complete it. It is aimed at anyone who is supporting a young person who is experiencing challenges with drugs or alcohol, or who is at risk of experiencing them.
This includes parents, carers, professionals, friends or family members. You do not need to be a trained drug and alcohol expert to be able to use these resources.
