Drugwatch Trust

Who are we?

Drugwatch Trust is a drugs and alcohol education charity whose aim is to reduce drugs and alcohol abuse and dependency.

It has been involved in this work since 1990 and has now developed a new and unique set of educational materials which address the educational needs of schools and colleges set out in the Government Drug Strategy 2017. These materials are going through a process of accreditation which will be completed by the time of the conference, and will satisfy the new statutory health education requirements which are to be in place for 2020.

Description

This one-day event is full of practical training, accompanied by lots of resources and frameworks, to help to minimise the effort and maximise the outcomes of all those who work with young people, school Pastoral Leaders, PSHE advisors, Sports Education Officers, Youth Workers, Charities, Local Safeguarding Officers.

Who is this event for?

If you lead or have responsibilities in your school/educational setting to deliver Drug and Alcohol Education, then you will gain a lot from this day. The event is for Primary and Secondary Heads and SLT, Heads of Year and Key Stages, PSHE leads, Pastoral Leads, SENCOs, Designated Safeguarding Leads, Sports Education Officers, Youth Workers. Whether you are new to the role or are just looking for some inspirational, up to date resources then this is an event you will not want to miss.

The day’s programme will run from registration at 0930 through to its conclusion at 1500, and will include some short presentations from the schools, colleges and others involved in trialling the materials. Further keynote speakers to be confirmed

The day will conclude with some hands-on table top exercises where delegates will have the chance to use the materials and discuss the practicalities of using them within the classroom setting.

The delegate price is £150 per person but the following early bird discounted prices are available:

Sign up before 31 March 2019 – £120 giving a discount of 20%

Sign up between 1 and 30 April 2019 - £135 giving a discount of 10%
