-16 inch ethically sourced buffalo hide drum with hand steamed ash frame

-intentional ceremonial space hosted by Dorrie Joy

-organic & homemade lunch in the woods round the fire

-roundhouse venue set within 5 acres of ancient woodland in the South Downs

-Dirt & Bone Gatherings host to fire tend, serve the sacred space & participants needs

-foraged herbal teas & organic snacks throughout the day

The majority of the cost & value of this workshop lies in the organic materials that are carefully sourced with skill, care, integrity and honouring.


Additional Information:

Drum making workshops include working on floor level and require the full use of both hands. It’s nourishing but intensive. The venue is within 5 acres of ancient woodland, nestled in the heart of the South Downs with a 1km walk from the carpark to the roundhouse over uneven terrain. Meet Dorrie:

Dorrie Joy is an artist & craftswoman, writer & poet. She teaches ancestral skill & traditonal crafts & holds workshops as sacred spaces that centre creativity as an intentional practice of soul mending & belonging. She has been making drums for 30 years and teaching for 20 of those. A mother of 3 & grandmother of 2, her work is rooted in connection & reciprocity.
